Cohere Machine Learning Intern/Co-op

The intern works on large-scale machine-learning and language-model systems. The role is research and engineering-heavy: developing models, training them on very large datasets, improving how they are served, and working with product teams to turn research ideas into practical solutions.

1 Design, train and improve cutting-edge ML models. 2 Develop techniques for making models safer, better and faster. 3 Train very large-scale models using massive datasets. 4 Explore continual learning and active learning for streaming data. 5 Build/maintain training and deployment pipelines. 6 Learn directly from experienced senior ML technical staff. 7 Work with product teams to develop practical AI solutions.

1 Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program. 2 Available for a full-time 3 - 6 month internship/co-op/research term. 3 Strong proficiency in Python. 4 Experience with ML frameworks such as:

• TensorFlow
• TF-Serving
• JAX
• XLA/MLIR

5 Experience with large-scale distributed training. 6 Familiarity with Transformers/autoregressive sequence models. 7 Strong communication and problem-solving skills. 8 Demonstrated interest in applied NLP models and products.
